The Most Brilliant Vampire Film in Fifteen Years, Let the Right One In, Has Became a Shitty American Remake. Here’s Its Trailer.

by Red Beard on July 2, 2010

It might not be shitty, but this is like remaking “The Godfather.” You just don’t do it. Chloe Moretz looks like she might follow up her Kick-Ass role as Hit Girl with something impressive. We’ll see.

And if you have Netflix and haven’t see “Let the Right One In” you’re insane. Watch it now on Instant!

Tell us what you think about the original and the remake in the comments.

Yes they should leave it alone. Let the Right One In was a great movie. I hope this one is good.

AHAHAHA. Almost absolutely correct. This trailer does give me some semblance of hope for the second filmed version of a good vampire book.

Red Beard, its not a remake of Tomas Alfredson's great film, its another film based on John Ajvide Lindqvist's book. I made that same mistake myself. http://film-book.com/7-ways-matt-reeves-could-h…

And if you do rent it or buy it, make sure that you are getting the version with the correct subtitles:

There is more on the subtitles in the Amazon comments for the film.

I knew it was based on a book but thought they were basing the remake on the film and not the book. Sounds dumb but that's the way Hollywood works.

Have you read the book? How close is Let the Right One In to the book?

I have read the book. They left A LOT out of the film. I won't ruin it for you but there are two huge plot lines left out of the film. They centered the film on the boy and girl which is the right decision. It's the same decision that Reeves made.
