ABC Bans Lane Bryant Bra Ad for “Too Much Cleavage”

by Red Beard on April 22, 2010

If there’s one thing the crew at We Have Beards love more than anything it’s women. That’s why I was appalled to hear that a Lane Bryant bra ad was banned by ABC. So I had to find out why. Fox was the first to refuse to show the ad during an episode of “American Idol” but quickly changed their minds when Lane Bryant accused Fox of a double standard because Victoria’s Secret and Playtex ads were running during the same broadcast. ABC also showed Victoria’s Secret and Playtex ads.

Lane Bryant is now accusing the networks of bias against plus size models. They claim that ABC said it was not appropriate for “Dancing with the Stars.” Yet Pamela Anderson is on the show?

Lane Bryant claims the ad was denied because it had “too much cleavage.” I can’t imagine a situation where too much cleavage could ever be bad.

Watch the commercial in all of it’s plus size glory and let us know in the comments if it’s too much for network TV.

    Disgusting, depraved, degenerate, degrading filth!
Just got through watching it for the 44th time, and I'm still as utterly shocked as the first.
